JP Gates (Miami) was dominant on the mound for the Gatemen for the first 3 innings. Gates only allowed 1 hit through the first 10 batters he faced racking up 4 strikeouts. Things changed in the 4thinning as  Gates found himself in trouble with runners on the corners and no outs.

Wareham came out swinging in the first inning. Braiden Ward (Washington) was hit by the pitcher and Darren Baker (Cal Berkeley) got on with a walk. Ward stole 2nd base and Baker advanced to 2ndon a double steal. From there Jacob Teter (Florida Sothern) and Adrian Del Castillo (Miami) took matters in to their own hands both sending home runs on sacrifice groundouts.

Wareham opened up the scoring in the 2ndinning. Ben Sems (Kansas) showed why he was selected to the CCBL All-Star team sending home a run on an RBI single making it 1-0. Niko Kavadas (Notre Dame) like Sems proved his CCBL All-Star selection launching a 2-run home run into deep left giving the Mariners a 2-1 lead.

It was a quiet start to the game until the bottom half of the second inning. Dallas Beaver (South Carolina) got on with a walk and Benjamin Sems (Kansas) got on by an error. Chad Stevens (Portland) had a chance to load the bases on a single but didn’t realize there were already 2 men running and got caught in a run-down to end the inning.

HARWICH- Wareham suffered 2-0 loss and 13-4 loss to Mariners on foggy and rainy day in Harwich  After having their best offensive performance last night the same could not be said about how the team played today. In game one of the double header the Gatemen got shutout and that was all because one player.
