Wareham suffered worst loss of the season at the worst possible time. After an emotional game 1 victory it looked as though all of the momentum was with the Gatemen. However, the train fell off the rails rather fast in game 2.

In one of the wildest baseball games you will ever watch the Gatemen scored six runs in the first inning and the Kettleers scored six runs in the fourth inning. The Gatemen came out victorious in an 8-7 ball game.

The Gatemen put the Commodores in their rear view mirror in the first inning and didn’t look back. Matt McLain (UCLA) roped a double off the left field wall and Pete Derkay (Tennessee) sent him home on a single. Adrian Del Castillo sent home two more runs getting all of a ball left up in the zone hitting his team leading fifth home run of the summer.

The Bourne Braves had no answer for Cole Larsen (Kansas) through the first 3 innings. After a lead-off single in the first inning Larsen sent down the next 8 batters he faced in order. Larsen had some help from his defense as 3 double plays were completed through the first 4 innings.
