The Wareham Gatemen will take the field for the last time this season on Tuesday, August 2nd as they travel to Eldredge Park to take on the Orleans Firebirds. The Gatemen failed to make the postseason for the second consecutive season.
Wareham is starting Nikolas Mazza (Southern Mississippi) for the first time this season although it will be his tenth appearance of the season. Mazza sits at a 6.35 ERA across 11.1 innings pitched.
Orleans is expected to start Bryce Warrecker (Cal Poly) for the sixth time this season. Warrecker has been extremely good as he holds a 1.36 ERA with 30 strikeouts in 33 innings.
The Firebirds clinch with a win and the Gatemen have a chance to play spoiler if things pan out for Chatham. Wareham could finish with a 14–23-7 record with a win. For complete game notes click here.
