Wareham will head across the Cape Tuesday night to face the Orleans Firebirds at Eldredge Park. The Gatemen look to get the series win in the final matchup between the two teams in the regular season.

In their last two meetings, both games have been won in walk-off fashion, most recently with Bobby Boser (USF) playing the hero role with a walk off single in the bottom of the ninth to lead the Gatemen to a 5-4 victory on July 15.

The Gatemen are coming off their first road win since Opening Day and Will Koger will look to bring that same energy into tonight’s game. Most recently, Koger pitched a scoreless inning at the 2023 Cape League All-Star game. The Louisville product had the numbers to back up his selection, throwing 18.2 innings with the second highest strikeouts on the Gatemen roster with 21. Seven of those Ks came in his last regular season appearance against the Chatham Anglers. Koger came in for relief and pitched a strong 3.1 outings. He gave up no earned runs and  struck out the side in the top of the ninth. Despite his best efforts, Wareham fell 6-3 in the extra inning.

Tune in to the Gatemen Gamecast on YouTube for the action at Eldredge Park with pregame coverage beginning at 6:10 before the 6:30 p.m. first pitch.
