After a restful off day, the Gatemen return to play with a Friday night matchup against the Hyannis Harbor Hawks.

Wareham will look for their first win against the Harbor Hawks when they travel to McKeon Park.

The Gatemen are coming off a Wednesday night win against the Harwich Mariners. The win, paired with a Bourne loss, kept Wareham’s playoff hopes alive.

Grant Sherrod (USC Upstate) led the charge of the Gatemen offense with a two-run home run to tie up the game, and later an RBI double that would serve as the game winning run in the 5-4 victory. Bayram Hot (Marist) has made an immediate impact on Wareham on both sides of the ball. In the win, Hot played a huge role on defense with key tag outs at third base. He also leads the team with a .375 batting average through two games played.

The Gatemen still sit nine points out of the final playoff spot behind the Braves with six games left to play.

Southpaw Brett Wozniak will toe the rubber for the Gatemen for his third start. The lefty out of High Point has appeared in four games for Wareham and holds a 3.38 ERA through 10.2 innings of work. In his last outing against the Brewster Whitecaps on July 19, Wozniak threw six innings and gave up just one earned run on six hits.
