Gatemen take trip to Lowell Park to face Kettleers

The Gatemen are back on the road for a Thursday evening matchup against the Cotuit Kettleers. After a tough loss to Falmouth Tuesday night, Wareham looks to turn it around and grab a win in their final game at Lowell Park.

The Kettleers currently hold the series lead over the Gatemen 2-1-0. Both teams’ wins come from their respective home games, but the Gatemen are ready to change that. Wareham has its work cut out for it, however, trying to pick up a win against the hottest team in the Cape Cod League in Cotuit. The Ketts currently sit atop the West with a 19-7-0 record. This is a different picture than the Gatemen’s season, as they sit in last place in the West with a record of 10-14-2 and are currently on a three game skid.

Gavin Black (Mississippi State transfer) will make his second start on the mound for the Gatemen. In two appearances, Black currently holds a 7.20 ERA through five innings of work. Of the 26 total batters he’s faced, Black has walked six and struck out one. He looks to get into a groove to help the Gatemen pull out a win against the Kettleers.
