Wareham returns to Spillane Field on Wednesday night after the day off to face the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. The Gatemen are on a hot streak and look to keep that going in a revenge game against the Red Sox.

In their last meeting, Yarmouth-Dennis made a late comeback and stole the win right out from under the Gatemen with a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the tenth.

The Red Sox currently sit atop the East Division at 9-5-1 and come into Spillane Field after a 11-5 victory over the Chatham Anglers. Yarmouth-Dennis is on a four game win streak that the Gatemen are ready to snap.

The Gatemen come into the matchup with their heads held high after beating manager Ryan Smyth’s former team, the Brewster Whitecaps, in dominant fashion spearheaded by a great performance by their pitching staff.

Riley Eikhoff (Coastal Carolina) will start on the mound for Wareham. In his first appearance, Eikhoff came out of the bullpen against the Cotuit Kettleers and pitched 0.1 innings while recording an out after facing two batters. In his spring season at Coastal Carolina, he owned a 4.43 ERA in his 42.2 innings pitched. The Chanticleer struck out 39 batters and walked 10. Eikhoff was also the only player on the Coastal Carolina roster to record a complete game.

The Wednesday night matchup is set for 6 p.m. with pregame coverage on the Gatemen Baseball Network beginning at 5:40.
