The Gatemen will face the Hyannis Harbor Hawks at Spillane Field for the 2023 home opener.
After yesterday’s 11-10 victory over Falmouth, Wareham looks to keep the bats hot and stay aggressive on the base paths going into today’s matchup. In 2022, Hyannis had a 22-16-6 record and the games were split 3-3 with Wareham. Hyannis comes into Spillane Field looking to recover from their 4-1 loss against Orleans.
Eldrige Armstrong III (SDSU) gets the nod to start on the mound in this game. Armstrong claimed a 3.24 ERA and went 5-1 in his sophomore year with 41.2 innings pitched. The righty struck out 46 batters in his 30 appearances in his second season with the Aztecs. Armstrong also received an invitation to participate in the 2023 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp.
The first pitch on the Gatemen home field is set for 6 p.m..
