Gatemen set for revenge match against Commodores

The Gatemen are back in action after an unusual Monday night. Wareham was set to face the Chatham Anglers at Veterans Field, but after the Gatemen put two runners on with two hits in the top of the first inning, the game was suspended due to fog. Wareham looks to use the unexpected rest to their advantage when they face the Falmouth Commodores Tuesday night at Spillane Field.

Wareham and the Commodores currently sit tied in last place in the West Division with 22 points each, but Falmouth holds the tiebreaker as they have the series lead at 2-1-0 going into tonight’s matchup.

In the first three matchups, the Commodores have put up over 30 runs on the Gatemen and scored at least 10 runs in each game. Yoel Tejeda (Florida State transfer) looks to put a stop to the double digit scores when he toes the rubber Tuesday night. Tejeda has appeared in four games with one start for Wareham this season. In his first start at Bourne on July 5, the righty pitched 2.2 innings and allowed only one earned run on three hits. The Florida native holds a 5.68 ERA through 6.1 innings of work.

Fans can tune in to the Gatemen Baseball Network for tonight’s game with pregame coverage beginning at 5:40 before 6 p.m. first pitch.
