Gatemen Look to Keep Offense Rolling Back Home

When the Gatemen left for their road trip at the beginning of the week, the offense had been especially stagnant. In the first two home games of the season, the Gatemen scored 4 runs. Fast forward to this weekend, the Gatemen have scored 15 runs in the most recent two games.

Last night, the Gatemen offense picked up a 4-1 win against the Brewster Whitecaps. Torin Montgomery had three hits on the night, including the first Gatemen home run of the season.

Tonight, Wareham will take on the Falmouth Commodores at home, hoping to keep the bats alive at Spillane Field.

RHP Luke Benneche (Lafayette) will get the start for Wareham at home. For the Commodores, they look to avoid a 5th loss this season with righty Ike Buxton (Lipscomb) on the mound.

This will be Benneche’s first start for the Gatemen this year. He came in for relief on Opening Day against Hyannis where he pitched 3 innings, giving up only one run on a solo shot to left field.

Currently, Buxton is 0-0 on the season for Falmouth with a 4.50 ERA.

Hopefully the Gatemen can keep the offense alive as they return home and pick up a forth win of the year.
