In the final full week of the regular season, the Gatemen are set for a Monday doubleheader matchup against the Bourne Braves.

This matchup provides all the tension and excitement a baseball fan loves, with tons of action in the rivalry games as well as a fight for playoff points.

Wareham currently sits nine points out of the final playoff spot in the West Division. The team in front of them, in fourth, is none other than Bourne. The doubleheader holds four total points that are up for grabs. The Gatemen need to take at least a point or two from the Braves to keep their hopes alive for the playoff race. Wareham leads the series 2-1 going into the night.

The last Gatemen win came on July 21 at Commodore Hendy Field at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy over the Falmouth Commodores. Although Wareham was technically the road team, this was their first win away from Spillane Field since Opening Day. They are hoping to bring the spark to Doran Park after All-Star weekend.

Aidan Major will toe the rubber in game one Monday afternoon for his fifth start. The West Virginia righty has worked through 16.1 innings and recorded 18 Ks on the season. In his last outing on July 17 against the Chatham Anglers, Major tossed 4.2 innings and was the first Gatemen starter to record a scoreless outing. He now holds a 5.51 ERA in his four games.

Yoel Tejeda will get the nod to start game two on the bump for the Gatemen. The Florida native comes into Monday night after his best performance of the season at Chatham. On July 18, Tejeda threw for five innings and struck out nine batters with 45 of his 69 pitches counting for strikes. Just one day after Major did it, Tejeda became the second Gatemen starting pitcher to record a scoreless outing. Tejeda previously pitched against the Braves this season on July 5, going 2.2 innings and allowed one earned run on three hits.

Pregame coverage for the first game will start at 3:45 with first pitch coming at 4 p.m. on the Gatemen Baseball Network. Make sure to come back to Gatemen Baseball Network for game two with pregame coverage starting at 6:45 before the 7 p.m. first pitch.
