The Gatemen are back at home Thursday night after a tough road stretch to face the Bourne Braves in the rescheduled Independence Day matchup. The series between the Gatemen and the Braves sits even at 1-1 after the Braves walked it off in the bottom of the ninth last night at Doran Park.

Wareham’s record has fallen fast to 8-11-2. The Gatemen have lost their last five games and hold fourth place in the West Division. Bourne sits in second place with a record of 12-8-0. The road struggles continue to be a thorn in the side of the Gatemen as they have gone 1-8-2 when not at Spillane Field.

Gavin Black (Mississippi State transfer) will make his first start on the mound as Wareham looks to turn things around. Since being activated, Black has made one appearance coming out of the bullpen. The righty threw two innings and gave up one run on four hits.

First pitch is set for 6 p.m. with pregame coverage on the Gatemen Baseball Network beginning at 5:40.
