Bourne and Wareham Face Off on Independence Day


The Wareham Gatemen will travel to Doran Park to take on the Bourne Braves for the second consecutive game on Monday, July 4th. The two squads have tied in both of their matchups this season and will look for a true winner this time around. 

Matt Jachec (Indiana St.) will get the start on Independence Day for the Gatemen. This will be Jachec’s fourth start of the season as he sits at a 5.25 ERA In 12 innings, he has struck out 13 batters and walked four.

Bourne’s probable starter is Bryce Cunningham (Vanderbilt) will be making his third start this, Summer. Cunningham comes into the contest with a 4.82 ERA in 9.1 innings pitched. He has struck out eight batters and allowed six hits.

The Gatemen offense has been better as of late, scoring 13 runs in their last two contests. The team average sits at .229 and is up to nine home runs. They have struck out 179 times compared to their 146 hits. 

Wareham will look to improve to 8-11-2 while the Braves are looking to get to 9-8-4. For complete game notes click here.
