Wareham Looking for Third Straight Win in Cotuit

The Cotuit Kettleers will play host to the Wareham Gatemen on Friday, July 8th at Lowell Park. Wareham looks to pick up their third straight win while Cotuit looks to bounce back after three losses and a tie in their last four.

Wareham will give the ball to Jonathan Brand (Auburn) for the fifth time this season. Brand has pitched to the tune of a 3.37 ERA across his 16 Cape Cod Baseball League innings. The righty has struck out 14 and walked just two all season and uses his command to get ahead in the count on hitters.

Cotuit is expected to start Harrison Cohen (George Washinton) in an effort to get out of their slump. Cohen will be making his fifth start of the Summer and has been dominant in his first four. His ERA sits at a 1.10 in 16.1 innings pitched and he has struck out 11 batters.

The Wareham offense has received reinforcements in the form of Owen Diodati (Oregon) and Chase Davis (Arizona). In just three games, Diodati has already smashed a homer and delivered three RBIs. With these two guys getting more at bats the Gatemen offense should see a massive boost.

The Gatemen will look to improve to 10-11-3 while the Kettleers are searching for their 15th win of the season. For complete game notes click here
