Wareham Hosts Chatham at Spillane Field

The Wareham Gatemen play host to the Chatham Anglers on Wednesday, July 20th in a matchup of two last place teams. The Gatemen sit at 11-16-6 as the Anglers come in at 9-17-7.

Wareham will start Jacob Cravey (Samford) for the sixth time this season. Cravey has logged 19.1 innings, pitching to the tune of a 3.72 ERA. He has struck out 19 batters and walked six on his way to an 0-2 record.

Chatham is expected to start Roman Kimball (Notre Dame). Kimball has been phenomenal in two appearances on the cape, pitching seven innings while striking out 13. He has allowed just one hit and no runs as he prepares for his second start of the season.

The Gatemen offense has struggled all year as they come into this matchup with a team average of .227. The team has struck out 280 times while only tallying 236 hits. They have really struggled in terms of power as they sit at just 12 home runs.

Wareham desperately needs a win to have a chance at staying in the fight for the postseason. They trail the fourth seeded Falmouth Commodores by three points and cannot afford to lose games to teams that have also struggled throughout the season.
