The Brewster Whitecaps will travel to Spillane Field on Friday, July 29th to take on the Wareham Gatemen. Brewster comes in at 15-17-7, which is good for the second spot in the East division. Wareham needs a win as they come in at 12-20-7, putting them in last place of the West division.
Wareham will send Jason Woodward (Florida Gulf Coast) to the mound for his seventh start of the season. Woodward has struggled across 20.1 innings allowing 28 hits. He has struck out just 17 batters and his ERA sits at 7.52.
Brewster is expected to send Zane Morehouse (Texas) to the mound. It will be Morehouse’s fifth start as he comes in with a 4.05 ERA. He has logged 20 innings and struck out 16 batters.
The Gatemen sit six points back of the last playoff spot in the West and need a win and some help for a shot at the postseason.
