Gatemen Travel to Harwich for Clash with Mariners

The Wareham Gatemen travel to Whitehouse Field to take on the Harwich Mariners on Thursday, July 14th. Wareham looks to get back in the win column after a loss on Wednesday to Cotuit.

Jason Woodward (Florida Gulf Coast) is expected to take the mound for the Gateman. Woodward has struggled through his four Cape Cod Baseball League starts sitting at an 8.52 ERA. He has allowed 19 hits across 12.2 innings pitched and looks to get back on track against the Mariners.

Harwich is expected to start former Gatemen pitcher Luke Benneche (Lafayette). The righty had a decent stint with Wareham and has appeared in one game so far with the Mariners. In that appearance he pitched two innings and struck out four.

Wareham has enjoyed the return of Owen Diodati (Oregon) as he is batting .348 across 23 plate appearances. Chase Davis (Arizona) has also been a nice addition for the Gatemen lineup as he is hitting .320 in his 25 at bats. Look for these two guys to help put runs on the board for a Gatemen lineup that has struggled all season.

The Gatemen will look to improve to 12-13-4 on the season while Harwich looks to get to 11-13-5. For complete game notes click here.
