Gatemen Take on Falmouth in Last Home Game of 2022

For the Gatemen players, coaches, interns and volunteers, tonight will be a bittersweet night at Spillane Field. The last home game of the summer will begin at 6:00pm between the Wareham Gatemen and the Falmouth Commodores. With the Gatemen out of the playoff picture, only two games remain for this 2022 team – tonight’s home game and tomorrow’s game at Orleans.

Travis Sthele (Texas Austin) is tonight’s probable starter. In his five appearances since he joined the team on the Fourth of July, Sthele has yet to make a start. He’s struck out 13 in his 10.1 innings of work for Wareham, and is looking to record his first win of the season.

CCBL All-Star Philip Abner walks into tonight’s matchup with three recorded wins for the Dores. Abner pitched an inning for the West Division in this year’s All-Star Game, giving up no earned runs on just one hit in the inning. He hopes to keep his season ERA at an impressive 2.08 tonight.

Tonight is also bingo night at Spillane Field! By giving a donation upon your arrival at the Field, you will receive a bingo card with numbers that will be announced during each inning of tonight’s game.
