The Gatemen are home tonight to face the Orleans Firebirds. This will be the third matchup of the season for the two teams, who each have one win going into tonight. Neither team won their matchups last night with Wareham ending in a 4-4 tie with Falmouth and Orleans falling 9-1 against Hyannis.
Michael Sansone (Fairfield) will be on the mound for Wareham this evening. This will be Sansone’s sixth start of the season, and first start against Orleans. Over his 24.2 innings of work, the lefty has only walked one batter and struck out 30, while giving up two home runs.
Patrick Reilly (Vanderbilt) will get the start for Orleans tonight. The 6’ 3” righty has pitched about half as many innings at Sansone, giving up 10 hits and nine walks in his 11.2 innings of work. Both starters are looking for their first win of the season tonight.
Due to the ongoing light issues at Spillane Field, first pitch will be moved up to 5:00pm instead of the usual 6:00pm start time.
