Bourne snapped 3 game losing streak defeating the Wareham Gatemen 6-1

WAREHAM- Bourne gets the best of the Wareham in the 1stof 6 matchups in the month of June defeating the Gatemen 6-1
Wareham got off to a good start. Braiden Ward (Washington) got on with a dropped 3rdstrike and easily stole second base and third base. Ward is now 11 for 12 on stolen bases this season. Darren Baker (Cal Berkeley) sent home Ward on an RBI single giving the Gatemen a 1-0 lead.
JP Gates (Miami) didn’t get off to the start he would have wanted. Bourne strung together 4 hits scoring 3 runs to take a 3-1 lead. Jimmy Glowenke (Dallas Baptist) hit a double, Jackson Greer (East Tennessee State) hit a 2 RBI ground rule double, and Zavier Warren (Central Michigan) hit an RBI double of his own.
Adrian Del Castillo (Miami) got himself into scoring position with a double in the 4thinning but was stranded. Coy Cobb (Texas) took over for the Gatemen in the 4thinning. Gates’ final line was 3 innings allowing 3 runs on 5 hits striking out 2 batters.
Kameron Guangorena (Cal State Fullerton) got the monkey off his back breaking out of his slump going 2-2 in the game with 2 singles. Coming into the game Guangorena was 0-18 in the last couple of games.

“The team photographer put some peppermint oil on my bat and it must of worked because I had a couple of hits” Guangorena said. “It’s fun to always face such good competition, I am a competer and I always want to come out on top.”

Mac Lardner (Gonzaga) had a great outing for the Braves. Lardner pitched 6 innings allowing 1 run on 6 hits. Braves fans have become accustomed with great pitching and they got a treat in the 7thinning. Colby Dunlop (UCONN) struck out the side utilizing an extremely fast fastball.
Tanner Bibee (Cal State Fullerton) took over in the 7thinning.  On Bibee’s first pitch result in a sac-fly run for Bourne making the score 4-1. Besides that one run, Bibee had a solid outing striking out 3 hitters allowing 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings.
“It’s awesome getting to play with Tanner, I already know what he does and what he is looking for and it has really helped build our relationship over the year“ Guangorena said. “I think we just have to keep playing our game. I feel like we played well and for the most part did what we needed to do but some things didn’t go our way and that’s just how baseball is sometimes.”
Greer hit his second double of the night sending home a run making the score 5-1 in the 7thinning. Greer finished the night with 3 RBI. Warren sent home another run on an RBI single making it 6-1 Braves.
Dunlop went on to have another impressive inning in the 8thonly allowing a run and Tyler Brosius (Rhode Island) sent down the Gatemen lineup in order to close out the game.
With the loss Wareham falls to 9-7-1 on the season while Bourne improves to 6-9. JP gates earned the loss and Lardner was awarded the win for his 6 great innings. The Gatemen are back in action tomorrow night on the road against the Y-D Red Sox at 5:00 p.m.
