07/31/08 – Wareham Wins “Fog-Shortened” Game Over East Leading Orleans
Kipp Shutz (Indiana) hit a homerun and a run scoring double to lead the Gatemen to a 3-1, fog shortened victory over the Orleans Cardinals at Eldredge Park. The game was called in the top of the 6th inning in one of a couple of games affected by the fog in CCBL play on Friday night.

With Schutz standing on second base in the top of the 6th, the umpires called the game due to the heavy fog at Eldredge Park. In the fouth inning, Wareham hit 2 homeruns; the first being the Schutz homer and the second an opposite field, 2-run homer by catcher Cole Leonida (Texas).

Matt Bashore (Indiana) picked up his second win of the season by pitching 4 innings, striking out 6 and allowing one earned run. Jimmy Saris (Georgetown) pitched what proved to be the last inning; striking out 2 and not allowing a base runner for his first save of the season.
