Yarmouth-Dennis (5-7) vs. Wareham (6-5-1)
Probable Starting Pitchers: YARMOUTH-DENNIS – Erich Uelmen (0-0, 0.00 ERA), RHP; WAREHAM – Sean Rackoski (0-0, 2.25 ERA), RHP
Preview: Since dropping their first five games of the season, the Red Sox have been on a bit of a roll. Over their last seven games, the Sox are 5-2 with a plus-10 run differential during that span. Without a doubt the most impressive aspect of Yarmouth-Dennis’ recent resurgence has been their pitching staff as since June 16th, the Red Sox have only given up more than two runs once. Sean Rackoski will try to cool down Yarmouth-Dennis’ momentum when he gets the start for Wareham on Friday. In his first outing in almost four months last Saturday against Hyannis, Rackoski went four innings while giving up just one run on two hits and striking out three.
Opposing Rackoski will be Red Sox starter Eric Uelmen out of Cal Poly. Uelemen, a rising junior, went 5-3 over 14 starts for the Mustangs this past spring. In 93 innings, Uelemen pitched to the tune of a 3.68 ERA, striking out 70 batters over those 93 innings. The right-hander shows off a fastball that hovers around 93-94 miles per hour as well as a 12-6 curveball.
