Preview: Wareham looks to bounce back versus Cotuit

Cotuit (4-14) vs. Wareham (9-8-1)

Probable Starting Pitchers: COTUIT – Colton Hock (0-2, 5.40 ERA), RHP; WAREHAM – Hogan Harris (0-0, 0.00 ERA), RHP

Preview: For the third consecutive game, Wareham struggled to get runners in from third with less than two outs on Friday as they ultimately finished 3-for-11 with runners in scoring position en route to a 7-6 loss to Cotuit. The Gatemen have an opportunity to get some retribution against the Kettleers right away, hosting them in the second part of the teams’ two-day home and home on Saturday evening. Hogan Harris makes his second start this season for Wareham. In his first outing of the year back on June 25th versus Hyannis, Harris went two innings, surrendered three runs (all unearned), let up just one hit and struck out three. The left-hander out of Louisiana Lafayette showed off a solid high-fastball when he was up in the count as well as a slow breaking ball.

Cotuit is trying to win their fourth game in six tries – including their second in a row over Wareham – as Colton Hock gets the start for the Kettleers. Hock, a rising junior at Stanford, has pitched in 10 innings so far this summer. Over the course of those 10 innings, Hock is pitching to the tune of a 5.40 ERA, striking out 10, letting up 10 hits, and walking five. The right-hander features a fastball that can get up to around 94 miles per hour, and when necessary he spins in a curveball that he can get on top of for a 12-6 look.

News & Notes: With four more RBIs yesterday, Colton Shaver finds himself atop the Cape Cod Baseball League leaderboard in that category with 19

. Gavin Sheets has taken over the team lead in batting average, sitting at .333 to go along with three home runs and 13 RBIs
