Probable Starting Pitchers: WAREHAM – Phil Reese (0-0, ERA –), RHP; FALMOUTH – Jeffrey Passantino (0-0, ERA –), RHP

Preview: For the second straight game the Gatemen staff was stellar on Sunday, facing the bear minimum and retiring 23 in a row to finish the game. They face a much tougher challenge on Monday when they head to Falmouth to take on the Commodores. The Commodores lineup is led by University of South Florida standout Kevin Merrell who is of to a torrid start thus far (5-for-8, 3 runs scored, two stolen bases). Gatemen coach Jerry Weinstein will call on Phil Reese to oppose the Commodores’ lineup. Reese, a rising senior out of Holy Cross, features a mid-to-high 80s four-seam fastball to go along with a standard 12-6 curveball. On the year, Reese went 4-3 with a 4.59 ERA in 68.2 innings.

The Commodores will counter with right-hander Jeffrey Passantino out of Lipscomb University to try and cool down a Gatemen lineup that has scored a combined 14 runs through the first two games of the season. Passnatino had an all around solid year for the Bisons, going 6-5 with a 3.40 ERA while allowing 97 hits in 98 innings. The right-hander features a high-80s to low-90s fastball as well as a solid off-speed repertoire.
