Wareham (10-8-1) vs. Bourne (11-7-1)

Probable Starting Pitchers: WAREHAM – Brett Conine (0-1, 3.00 ERA), RHP; BOURNE – Dominic Taccolini (0-0, 5.40 ERA), RHP

Preview: Wareham, behind some terrific infield defense and six innings of one run ball from the bullpen snapped their two-game losing streak last night with a win over Cotuit, 3-2. The Gatemen will now to try and pull to within a tie in the Western division when they take on Bourne on Sunday evening. So far the two teams have met just once this Cape Cod Baseball League season. That contest took place back on June 23rd and ended in a 7-7 tie (12 innings) after Bourne scored two in the bottom of the ninth to send the game into extras. Brett Conine gets the start for Wareham, his fourth of the season. Conine made his last start back on June 26th versus Brewster, and outside of the first three batters of the game (hit, hit by pitch, hit), Conine was solid against one of the top lineups in the Cape Cod Baseball League. On the year, Conine is 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA, while surrendering 12 hits over 12 innings of work, walking five and striking out 10.

Braves starter Dominc Taccolini out of Arkansas will oppose Conine. Taccolini, a right-hander who stands at six-foot three-inches, 230 pounds, is making just his second appearance on the Cape. His first came back on June 26th versus Orleans where he went 3.1 innings, gave up two runs on three hits, walked two, and struck out five. This past spring, Taccolini was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 16th round following a junior season that saw him go 5-5 with a 5.75 ERA. He features a sinking fastball that can get up into the mid 90s as well as a breaking ball.
