Meet the 2012 Wareham Gatemen Broadcast Team

A brand new broadcast duo with a familiar background will team up to form the Wareham Gatemen Broadcast Team for the 2012 season. Benjamin Fontana and Jarrad Saffren, both sophomores at the SI Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University, will join the Gatemen organization this summer as play by play broadcasters.

This will be our 6th season bringing live play by play coverage for all 44 regular season games plus the playoffs. Once again, we will partner with Wareham Community Television who will provide our live video for all home games at Spillane Field that will stream free of charge on UStreamTV; accessed here at from our Pressbox Page. Ben and Jarrad will also hit the road with the team; delivering live play by play audio.

Ben and Jarrad will be our 4th and 5th play by play broadcasters in the last 4 years from Syracuse; following Alex Perlman (2009), Eric Silverman (2010) and Bill Spaulding (2011). We hope to debut our newest team during a preseason game on June 12th when the Gatemen welcome the Newport (RI) Gulls from the New England Collegiate Baseball League to Spillane Field for a preseason game.
