Joseph Flynn Named Cape Cod Baseball League Pitcher of the Week

Gatemen RHP Joseph Flynn (Franlin Pierece), from nearby Plymouth, MA, has been named the CCBL’s 7th Coca Cola Pitcher of the Week.  A key member of the Wareham bullpen all season, Flynn has been called on to make 2 consecutive starts – especially in his July 30th start vs. Falmouth which resulted in this honor.

Flynn pitched 7 shutout innings; allowing only 3 hits and striking out 4 in the first of two games played by Wareham on the day.  His quality start preserved the Gatemen bullpen and set the stage for a double-header sweep for Wareham.

Joseph is a starting pitcher for Franklin Pierece and during his freshman year helped his team advance to the NCAA Division II World Series.  He made 12 starts for Franklin Pierece, resulting in a 5-2 record and a 3.86 era.  He had 61 strikeouts in 58.1 innings.

Flynn is the 2nd Gatemen pitcher to be named Coca Cola CCB Pitcher of the Week; joining All-Star Max Perlman. (Harvard)
