Introducing the 2011 Gatemen Broadcasting Team

The Wareham Gatemen are pleased to once again provide free, live internet broadcasts of all home and away games for the upcoming 2011 season.  Providing play-by-play coverage this season will be the new Gatemen Broadcast Team of Bill Spaulding and Lisa Pride.

All games will be available live right here live on and also be available locally in the Wareham area on WCTV. (check you local cable television listings for channel)  Games can also be viewed in or on your UStream supported mobile device by downloading the free UStream application.  Home games will feature both live video and audio from Spillane Field.  Away games will feature only audio.  For more information, please visit our pressbox page.

The Gatemen are excited to continue the tradition of having another talented play caller in the pressbox.  Bill Spaulding is wrapping up his sophomore year at Syracuse University where he studies Broadcast Journalism at the SI Newhouse School of Public Communications. At Syracuse, Bill works for the 3 major media networks on campus. Bill covers SU football, men’s basketball, and men’s lacrosse for WAER radio, calls high school football, SU women’s basketball, and women’s lacrosse for Z89, and works on the sports staff at CitrusTV. Last summer he called baseball for the Geneva Redwings of the New York Collegiate Baseball League.

Bill follows Alex Perlman and Eric Silverman; classmates of Bill’s at Syracuse, into the Gatemen pressbox.

The Wareham Gatemen organization is also excited to welcome Lisa Pride to the broadcast team.  This season marks Lisa Pride’s 1st year as a broadcaster for the Wareham Gatemen, and her 5th baseball season as a play-by-play announcer / color analyst. As a veteran sportscaster, Lisa has been covering baseball in TV & Radio for over 15 years.

Pride continues to call Minor League Baseball games for the Florida Marlins & St. Louis Cardinals Class A teams in the Florida State League. She was also the in-game TV reporter for the NY Yankees AAA team, Columbus Clippers (2003). Pride has had the unique opportunity to witness & report on the Florida Marlins from their 1st Spring Training season through their two World Championship seasons (1997 & 2003).

As a Production Assistant for NBC Olympics (2000), Pride will never forget watching Team USA win the Gold Medal by defeating Cuba in the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. That same year, Pride also worked in nearby Providence, R.I. at WJAR-TV as a producer & reporter.

A former softball pitcher at the University of Dayton, Pride also attended the University of Central Florida where she received her degree in Communications-Radio/TV Broadcasting. She now resides in West Palm Beach, FL with her husband Curtis and their 2 children.   Curtis Pride is a former MLB player and is the head baseball coach at Gaullaudett University.  He is also coming to Wareham as an assistant coach to head coach Cooper Farris.
