Gatemen Alum Mark Angelo Elected to Cape League Hall of Fame

Mark Angelo, who played 3 seasons (80-82) for the Wareham Gatemen, has been elected as a member of the 2009 Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of Fame class.  Coming to Wareham out of Florida Southern University, Angelo batted .317 with 26 homers and 110 rbi over his CCBL career.  Angelo played for Yarmouth-Dennis in 1981 and hit .335 with a league leading 14 homeruns and 47 rbi.


Mark was drafted in the 1983 MLB draft by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 18th round.  He went on to play 3 seasons of Single-A, minor league baseball.  In all, 10 players were elected to the 2009 HOF class:

The Hall of Fame induction ceremonies will be held at the Chatham Bars Inn in Chatham, MA on November 14th.
