Former Gatemen Pitcher Wade Miley Named National League All-Star

WAREHAM, MA: Former Gatemen LHP Wade Miley (SE-Louisiana) has been named to the National League All-Star Game and will represent the Arizona Diamondbacks in Kansas City on Tuesday night. Miley was a member of the 2007 Wareham Gatemen and was named a Cape Cod Baseball All-Star.

Miley was on a Wareham roster that featured many other talented pitchers including fellow All-Star Chris Hicks (Georgia Tech), who pitches for AAA Oklahoma City, Andy Oliver (Oklahoma State) at AAA Toledo, 2006 CCBL All-Star Jeremy Bleich (Standford) from Single A Staten Island, Dallas Keuchel (Arkansas) who is also pitching for AAA Oklahoma City and Riley Boening (Texas). Wade was also Gatemen teammates with catcher Josh Phegley (Indiana) who was also a 2007 Cape League All-Star in the game that was played in Wareham that season. Phegley was just named a AAA All-Star.

Miley enters the MLB All-Star game having made 14 starts for the Arizona Diamondbacks this season and he has a 9-5 record to go along with a 3.04 era and has truck out 70 in 100.2 innings. He as the National League Rookie of the Month in April.

In addition to Phegley, Miley was part of a talented group of CCBL All-Stars in 2007 including fellow Major League Players such as Buster Posey, Gordham Beckham, Aaron Crow and Yonder Alfonso.
