BOSTON, MA: For the 2nd consecutive season, a Wareham Gatemen has been named the West MVP at the CCBL All-Star game as RHP Konner Wade (Arizona) followes Zach Wilson (Arizona State); claiming the award. The East squad defeated the West squad 4-2 in the league’s showcase event that was played at Fenway Park in Boston for the 3rd time in last 3 years.
Wade was joined by teammates Max Muncy (Baylor); who started at first base and batted 5th and John Andreoli (UCONN) who also started; playing right field and hitting 7th in the West lineup. RHP Justin Amlung (Louisville) was also named to the team but signed a professional contract with the Cincinatti Reds last week.
In front ot 7,007 in attendance at the storied home of the Boston Red Sox, the Cape Cod Baseball League hosted their premier event of the summer and showed off the best talent in college baseball. Daniel Palka (Georgia Tech) was also on hand; participating in the home run contest prior to the game. Palka finished 2nd in the contest behind Richie Shaffer (Clemson).
Konner Wade pitched a scoreless 8th inning in an impressive outing, picked up a strikeout and as a result, was named the West’s MVP.
James Ramsey (Florida State) from Yarmouth-Dennis was named the East team MVP after hitting a homerun from the leadoff spot.
