Derek Dietrich was drafted in the 3rd round by the Houston Astros in the 2007 MLB Draft but did not sign and decided to become the shortstop for Georgia Tech.  Derek was the top ranked player in the state of Ohio and named as high-school All-American by Louisville Slugger and Baseball America.  He was named to the ACC's All-Conference team and hit .333 with 14 homers and 66 rbi.
