As the snow melts and the grass on Spillane Field starts to green, the Wareham Gatemen are pleased to announce the 2015 broadcast team to brighten your day.
For the ninth consecutive year, the Gatemen will provide live play-by-play coverage of all home and away games to fans, and this year’s broadcast team has what it takes to continue the legacy of quality, in-depth coverage through the 2015 season.
The Gatemen are excited to announce that Erik Bremer and Jacob Garcia will join us in the broadcast booth as the team’s play-by-play broadcasters, and Megan O’Brien will return for a second season as a reporter and host.
Bremer is a sophomore at Northwestern University majoring in Radio/Television/Film, where he announces Wildcats baseball, basketball, and volleyball for 89.3 WNUR and the Big Ten Digital Network. He is a 2013 graduate of Rogers High School in Rogers, Minnesota, where he played baseball and anchored a weekly news show.
Garcia is a sophomore at Arizona State University in the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He is a play-by-play broadcaster for the Pac-12 digital stream for Arizona State baseball, as well as a former Oakland Athletics featured columnist for Bleacher Report and beat writer for the ASU football team.
Joining the Gatemen for a second summer, O’Brien will report from the sidelines, live tweet each game and host the weekly magazine show “Wareham Gatemen – Around the Horn.” O’Brien is a junior at Northwestern University studying broadcast journalism, and she is a member of the varsity cross country team. In 2013, O’Brien interned with Fox Sports in Chicago where she covered the Chicago Blackhawks and their run to the Stanley Cup
All games can be accessed through www.gatemen.org via the “Pressbox” tab. Our broadcasts are streamed through www.ustream.tv and can be viewed on any computer, tablet, or phone by downloading the UStream app. Live updates will also be provided on the team’s twitter page, @WarehamGatemen.
The Gatemen are proud to continue their partnership with Wareham Community Television (WCTV), which, with several production interns, will provide live video for all home games this season. Check out their website for replay information: www.warehamtv.org.
